Deaths of Environmental Activists in Brazil Doubled
The number of murdered environmental activists in Brazil has doubled in 2025, according to a report by NGO Global Witness. Brazil is the second most common country for such deaths after Colombia, with both countries together accounting for 52% of all murders of environmental defenders.
