Debate over Annan Plan rejection 20 years ago
On the anniversary of last month's referendum, the 76-percent rejection of the Annan Plan by the Cypriot population is being discussed again. While parties that rejected the plan praise it as a saving decision for Cyprus, critics increasingly appear in the media attacking the late President Tassos Papadopoulos for the rejection and missed solution opportunities, in some cases even calling him a traitor.
