Decline in reading ability is a business decision
An opinion piece addresses the decline in reading and writing skills worldwide despite increased information consumption. An OECD survey from December 2024 examined adults in 31 countries and found that reading and numeracy skills have stagnated or declined over the past decade. Only Denmark and Finland showed improvements.
