Dementia was rare in ancient times – research finding
A USC-led analysis of ancient medical texts suggests that dementia was extremely rare in Greece and Rome 2,000 to 2,500 years ago. The research, published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, supports the hypothesis that Alzheimer's and related dementias are modern diseases linked to sedentary lifestyles and environmental factors.
