Democritus: The Laughing Philosopher and His Teachings
The ancient Greek pre-Socratic philosopher Democritus of Abdera is known for developing the atomic theory of the universe and is referred to in the history of philosophy as the 'Laughing Philosopher.' Despite his extensive contributions to philosophy and natural science in the fields of ethics, mathematics, physics, and cosmology, only a few of his works have survived.
