Dispute Between EU Commission and ECB Over Banking Regulation
A new conflict is emerging in Brussels between the European Commission and the European Central Bank. The Commission is reviewing relaxations of capital requirements and an expansion of the powers of the European Banking Authority to make European banks more competitive against American competitors.
