Dispute Over Foot-and-Mouth Disease Compensation in Cyprus
A conflict has developed between the head of the veterinary authorities Christodoulos Pipis and the chairman of the Special Scientific Committee Stavros regarding compensation for farmers whose livestock was slaughtered during the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak. Millions of euros and EU co-financing are at stake in this dispute.
