Easter traditions alive in Paphos villages
In the predominantly Greek Orthodox villages of Paphos, Easter traditions are actively maintained as households prepare for the most important Christian holiday. Many Cypriots follow the strict fasting practices of the 48-day Lenten period or at least the traditions of Holy Week, which are accompanied by various customs. The countdown begins on Green Monday and culminates in diverse Easter traditions.
