ECB warns of supply chain risks through the Strait of Hormuz
The European Central Bank warns of potentially severe consequences of trade disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz for the global economy. Beyond energy supply bottlenecks, supply chain failures in a worst-case scenario could jeopardize up to 3 percent of production in the euro area and cause economic consequences far beyond mere energy price effects.
