Economic Growth Despite High Poverty Rates Among Workers
The Cypriot economy shows a contradictory picture despite positive overall indicators. While gross domestic product has grown significantly between 2021 and 2025 and average gross wages as well as employment have increased, the proportion of workers at risk of poverty is not declining accordingly. This indicates an uneven distribution of economic gains across the population.
