Ecuador Reports Dramatic Decline in Homicides
Ecuador recorded a 28% decline in intentional homicides nationwide in March, which the government attributes to military operations during a two-week nighttime curfew in four provinces. President Noboa imposed the curfew in the provinces of Guayas, Los Rios, El Oro, and Santo Domingo, which have been described as major drug trafficking areas.
