El Niño could reach record strength
According to new forecasts from the American National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the current El Niño phenomenon could become the strongest ever measured. The probability of a record El Niño now stands at approximately 70 percent and could lead to extreme weather events worldwide.
