El Niño to intensify and persist until February 2027
The World Meteorological Organization forecasts that the current El Niño phenomenon will intensify and reach its peak in December. With a probability of nearly 100 percent, El Niño will persist until February 2027. Sea surface temperatures could reach new record values.
