Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has enacted legal reforms that permit life sentences for minors aged 12 and older upon conviction for murder, terrorism, or rape. The measures were published in the official state gazette and take effect on April 26, following congressional approval of a corresponding constitutional amendment in March.
