52 years after the Turkish invasion in the summer of 1974, the victims of ELDYK (Greek armed forces in Cyprus) are commemorated. 105 officers and soldiers died defending Cyprus. The ELDYK, founded in 1959 and stationed in Famagusta in 1960, mounted heroic resistance against the Turkish invasion, particularly in its barracks.
