Electricity Supply Under Pressure - Two Power Plants Out of Service
Cyprus's electricity system is described as critically strained as two power generation facilities are offline: one in Vassiliko and one in Dekelia. According to Charis Zavallís, deputy director of the National Energy Control Center, the failure of a 105-MW unit at the Vassiliko power plant represents a significant burden. Wednesday and Thursday are classified as particularly difficult for electricity supply security.
