Energy Crisis in Hungary: Paks Nuclear Power Plant Shuts Down
Hungary is in an energy emergency as its only nuclear power plant, Paks, is being completely shut down for the first time in 44 years. Exceptionally low water levels on the Danube are impairing the functioning of the power plant, which forms the backbone of Hungarian electricity supply. There are concerns about possible power outages in the country.
