Energy Crisis Looms: Natural Gas Needed by 2030, Power Cuts Feared
Energy Minister Michael Damianos warns of serious electricity supply problems from 2030 onwards if natural gas is not introduced in time. According to the minister, completion of the long-delayed LNG terminal in Vasiliko is the only viable solution. Parallel to this, a critical meeting took place between Damianos, State Secretary Eirini Piki, and EAC Chairman Giorgos Petrou with union representatives to prevent power outages.
