Environmental Activist Theopemptou Receives 2026 Democracy Award
Former President of the Ecologists Movement, Charalampos Theopemptou, received the 2026 Democracy Award on September 15 from the socio-political think tank 'Politeia'. At the award ceremony at the Press House in Nicosia, he acknowledged the roots of his environmental consciousness, which developed during his youth in the Pentadaktylos Mountains and later in Welsh forests.
