EPP Demands Clear Rules for EU Mutual Defense Clause
The European People's Party is calling for the establishment of clear rules for Article 42.7 of the EU Treaty (mutual defense clause). EPP Group Chair Manfred Weber referenced the situation in Cyprus in this context. Cypriot MEP Marilenya Raouna emphasized from the plenary speaker's tribune that diplomacy is the only sustainable path forward and pointed to the need to reduce the EU's energy dependence.
