Etna erupts: ash clouds halt air traffic in Catania
The Sicilian volcano Etna has erupted again, with explosions from the Voragine crater and ash eruptions into the atmosphere toward Catania airport. This led to the suspension of all arrivals until 5:00 PM local time by airport operator SAC, as volcanic ash poses a hazard to aviation.
