EU Adopts First Protection Standards for Cats and Dogs
The European Parliament approved by a large majority (558 votes in favor) the first EU-wide protection regulations for cats and dogs. The regulation mandates obligatory microchip identification, bans harmful breeding practices, and introduces new import restrictions for animals from outside the EU.
