EU Alliance Case: Major Exercise Planned for Mutual Defense Obligation
The European Union will conduct a three-stage simulation exercise in May in Brussels to test the activation of the mutual defense clause (Article 42.7). The exercise involves the European Commission, EU member states, and their embassies. The aim is to develop an operational response mechanism for the case of a collective security threat.
