EU and Cyprus Respond to Fuel Crisis
The European Union is calling for strengthened measures to protect consumers from a new energy crisis related to fuel prices. The Cypriot Parliament approved on April 2 with 46 votes an urgent legislative proposal to reduce consumption tax on fuel to ease costs for consumers. The EU has been working since the 2022 energy crisis on improving the resilience of its energy markets.
