EU Condemns Invasion: Wounds of Women and Girls Need More Than Words
A commentary commends the EU Parliament resolution that, with a large majority, condemned the effects of the invasion on Cyprus, particularly sexual violence against women and girls, exploitation, forced displacement, and family separation. The author argues, however, that while condemnations are symbolically important, they cannot heal the wounds of victims.
