EU Financial Regulator Expands Oversight of Crypto Markets and Technology Providers
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published its work program for 2027, which provides for an expansion of financial market supervision. The program focuses on the implementation of already planned initiatives, simplification of regulations, and increased use of data and artificial intelligence. ESMA plans to expand its supervisory role over cryptocurrencies, central clearing counterparties, and technology providers.
