EU financial regulator tightens control over international settlement
The European financial market authority ESMA is initiating a consultation on enhanced monitoring of EU companies that settle transactions through clearing houses outside the EU. The planned regulation will require financial institutions and their clients to submit annual reports to better capture regulatory risks.
