EU initiative: Heart screening to reduce deaths by 25%
The European Commission is launching the first European Preventive Health Check Week (September 28 - October 4) under the motto 'Know Your Numbers'. Citizens, including Cypriots, are encouraged to have their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels checked in order to detect cardiovascular diseases early and reduce mortality by 25%.
