EU Leadership Meeting: Defense, Energy Independence and Middle East
EU heads of state and government met in Cyprus for informal talks and called for strengthened European defense cooperation, faster energy independence, and engaged cooperation with the Middle East. Council President Antonio Costa commended Cyprus as host given the ongoing instability in the region, which affects Europe's security and economy.
