EU plans electrification by 2040 and independence from fossils
The European Commission is pursuing for the first time a concrete target for electrification of the European economy by 2040 as part of a broader strategy for energy transition and strengthening clean technologies. The aim is to reduce EU dependence on fossil fuels and position Europe as a leading "electricity continent."
