EU pressures Cyprus over insufficient implementation of minimum tax
The European Commission is pressuring Cyprus to review its laws regarding minimum taxation of multinational groups (Pillar 2). The country faces the threat of withdrawal of US multinationals to preferred tax jurisdictions that have received exemptions until 2029, while simultaneously risking that Cyprus will be placed under EU monitoring.
