EU Regulation: Microchips for Pets and Breeding Restrictions
A new EU regulation that takes effect on 30 October 2026 establishes mandatory animal welfare measures in all member states through 2041. The regulation includes microchip identification for cats and dogs as well as strict provisions for breeding regulation, including a ban on inbreeding.
