EU uses frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine
The European Commission announced it will finance new financial support for Ukraine with interest income from frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank, which were seized as part of sanctions following the Russian invasion. On August 3, the EU received 1.4 billion euros from these interest payments.
