EU warns Cyprus over gender quotas in corporate boards
The European Commission has escalated an infringement procedure against Cyprus to the second phase because the country has failed to implement EU Directive 2022/2381 on gender quotas in corporate boards. The directive stipulates that at least 40 percent of the underrepresented gender should be represented on the boards of listed companies. Cyprus faces the prospect of proceedings before the European Court of Justice.
