European External Action Service: Limited power despite high expectations
The European External Action Service (EEAS), founded in 2011, was intended to give the EU its own diplomatic voice and strengthen its position on the international stage. However, the service has never been able to secure the necessary autonomy to fully fulfill its role. Since its founding, the EEAS has remained dependent and has failed to establish itself as a true lever of power in Europe.
