European Used Phone Fraud: Investigations Also on Cyprus
European authorities are investigating a massive fraud ring that sold used mobile phones as new merchandise. The criminal organization was active in several EU countries including Cyprus. The damage to consumers is estimated at least 300 million euros, with significant tax losses also incurred by the affected EU member states.
