Famagusta Hotels Struggling with 40% Fewer Bookings
The tourism industry in Famagusta is starting the season under considerable pressure: new bookings have declined by 40 percent compared to the previous year, while occupancy rates in Ayia Napa and Protaras are approximately 50 percent lower than at the beginning of the 2025 season. Despite these weak figures, hotels are sticking to their planned opening dates, reflecting concerns in Cyprus's most tourism-dependent region.
