Family Remembers Deaths During 1974 Coup
A family commemorates the killing of their eight-year-old son Stavros Pidias and his 62-year-old grandmother Margarita Theodorou during the coup of July 15, 1974 in the Agios Ioannis area in Limassol. The two were killed by machine-gun fire before the eyes of the rest of the family, and the wound remains unhealed more than five decades later. The family continues to mark the anniversary of this tragic morning annually.
