Farmers Protest Against Culling Measures for Foot-and-Mouth Disease
Livestock breeders demonstrated in Nicosia on Sunday against the state's handling of the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak, with tensions arising as demonstrators blocked a major road. The protests were triggered by rising case numbers and the spread of the disease to pig farms, while farmers demand immediate action and a review of culling policy.
