Feta prices rise to 16 euros per kilogram – similar to olive oil
Cyprus faces the same problem with feta cheese as with olive oil: while international demand and exports are strong, the availability of sheep's milk as a critical raw material is declining. This is leading to rising feta prices in retail, which are climbing rapidly upward. Foreign customers are increasingly requesting cheese without regard to price, which increases price pressure.
