Fiji Declares State of Emergency Over AIDS Epidemic
Fiji has declared a state of emergency due to a dramatic increase in HIV infections and announces plans to improve access to testing, prevention, and treatment. 2,016 people were diagnosed with HIV in 2025, and approximately one in 60 adults lives with the virus – a 16-fold increase in just six years.
