Fire Chief: Over 1,450 Forest Fires in 2026, Arson Suspected
Cyprus Fire Service General Coordinator Nikos Logginios reported a significant increase in forest fires in the past week with indications of arson. In total, over 1,450 forest fires have been recorded this year, with firefighters sometimes discovering 4-5 fire sources on a 500-meter stretch.
