Florida: 61-Year-Old Executed for Spousal Murder
Florida carried out its 13th execution since the beginning of 2026 on Tuesday. The 61-year-old William Francis Silva was executed by lethal injection for the murder of his estranged wife and the injury of her mother. Silva denied intent and called the incident an accident, but the state continued to pursue an aggressive death penalty policy under Governor Ron DeSantis.
