Foot-and-Mouth Disease Spreads: 105 Farms Infected
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is spreading on Cypriot farms with a total of 105 infected farms, including 13 cattle farms, 89 goat and sheep farms, and 3 pig farms in the Larnaca and Nicosia districts. The disease has also reached rare breeding lines. The president of the employers and industrialists association warns that this is now a matter of national food security and livestock breeding resilience must become a national priority.
