Foot-and-mouth disease spreads in Athienou - 60,000 animals culled
In Athienou, one of Cyprus's most important agricultural areas, three new cases of foot-and-mouth disease were registered on Wednesday in goat and sheep farms. The total number of culled animals is approaching 60,000, while the EU extended trade restrictions until mid-June. Livestock farmers in the region are on highest alert.
