Foot-and-Mouth Disease: Two Additional Herds Infected
Cypriot veterinary authorities confirmed two new cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Dromolaxia on Monday, bringing the total number of affected farms to 54 in the Larnaca and Nicosia districts. The new infections affect small groups of sheep and goats in an already designated disease control area. Authorities assure that there is no risk for meat consumption during Easter and that epidemiological investigations have been completed nationwide.
