Forest Fire Fighting: 1,250 Fires Already – Eight Fire Stations 24/7
To strengthen forest fire fighting, the Cypriot government expanded 24-hour operations at several fire stations for the current fire season. With the allocation of additional financial resources and the hiring of 60 new full-time firefighters, operational readiness is significantly improved. So far, 1,250 forest fires have been reported this year.
