Forest fires in Greece are subsiding, but hundreds of firefighters remain on high alert for possible flare-ups northwest of Athens. Local crews supported by water-bombing aircraft and reinforcements from Romania and France are attempting to fully contain a fire that has destroyed homes and scorched forests, agricultural land, and olive groves.
