Fraud wave: 104,200 euros stolen through online scams
Police are investigating two online fraud cases. In Paphos, a 62-year-old woman gave an unknown person access to her phone for an alleged cryptocurrency investment and lost 11,000 euros. In a second case in Nicosia, fraudsters stole 93,200 euros from a company through fake emails purporting to be from a business partner. Both cases highlight the growing danger of cybercrime on the island.
