G7 agrees on release of diesel and oil reserves
The G7 countries have agreed, under pressure from the United States under President Trump, to release a total of 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from strategic emergency reserves. In addition, the countries committed to refraining from energy export restrictions. The US government had exerted a pressure campaign on the European Union to reduce emergency diesel stocks.
